“Let’s meet for sushi at Octopus.” That was the plan for our first date.
We both texted, “Here!”
“Where?”
“I’m standing out front.”
“No, I’m standing out front.”

Turns out there’s an Octopus Sushi in Glendale and one in Burbank—and we were each waiting at a different one.
Thirty minutes later, Rachel walked into the Glendale location (a.k.a. the correct one).

Maybe a first date that starts off a little sideways is actually a good omen—because we both texted each other saying we wanted to see each other again before we even made it home.

Dave officially asked Rachel to be his girlfriend on March 19, 2022, at the Venice Canals.

Since then, our life together has been full of adventures—traveling to places like Hawaii, New York, and Peru; trying new foods; building our home; and supporting each other through it all. Wherever we are, as long as we’re together, it feels like home. Every now and then, we catch each other’s eye, smile, and say: “We have fun.”

Dave proposed at the Venice Canals on Rachel’s birthday—September 29, 2025—in the exact spot where we became a couple. It was an easy, joyful “yes.”

We’re getting married on May 2, 2026, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you—our favorite people.
